Attended Wilson Junior College for two years and finished a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Illinois, Chicago Circle, in the first graduating class at UICC in 1967.
Attended the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and graduated in 1971.
Served two years in the US Army.
Returned to the Southside of Chicago after the Army and established a dental practice in Chicago and Oak Lawn.
Taught clinic dentistry, two days a week at the University of Illinois, College of Dentistry for eighteen years. After I stopped teaching, I became very active in the Dental Alumni Association. I served on many committees, organizing golf outings and eventually became President of the Alumni Association. At that time, I was also involved with the Chicago Dental Society. I was on our local branch board and ended up being President of our local branch. I was also on the board for the Chicago Dental Society and was the Program Chairman for the 2007 Midwinter Meeting at McCormick Place.
My wide Maureen and I raised four children in Lemont, IL where they attended St. Patrick’s School. I served on the school board. We were Eucharistic Ministers, athletic directors and I coached boys\u2019 basketball. Our children attended and graduated from Providence Catholic H.S. Maureen and I helped with numerous fund-raisers at Providence.
Served on advisory board at Providence for four years and was President my final year.
Participated in career days at Mendel for a number of years.
A proud graduate of Mendel Catholic Prep H.S., I believe the curriculum prepared me to attend college and continue on to graduate school, in order to obtain a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
During my years as a dentist, I treated many Augustinians [great patients.] Later in my career, I was a consultant for the company that dispersed payments from the Augustinian Health Trust Fund.
