“Before Mendel, I had competed against Black athletes, but never played on the same team with Black athletes. My experiences at Mendel taught me to love my fellow man no matter if they were Black, Hispanic, or Asian. Mendel helped me to shed my stereotypes. I have Black friends today from Mendel who I would take a bullet for if given the chance! Mendel was a wonderful experience for me because it taught me discipline for the rest of my life.”
