We were honored to receive this excellent letter from Father Michael O’Connor expressing his gratitude for Mendel ALumnus’ help and support.

The donation of $7,000 was recently made to support retired Augustinians. Pres. Tom Gavin, Chair Kirk Townsend, and Board Member Mike Foley are pictured with Fr Mike O’Connor, Fr Don Lewandowski, and several other Augustinians. Here is an excerpt from the letter of appreciation sent to us:

December 28, 2022
Dear Tom Gavin, Kirkland Townsend, Mike Foley,
I write this very late letter of gratitude to you and all the Mendel Alumni for your most generous gift of ($7,000) to our men here in Crown Point. At the time of your presentation, we had 20 men in need of healthcare. Since then, two have died, and two are in hospice care, keeping us responding daily to each one’s care and needs. Remembering us and acknowledging the Augustinians who have made a difference in your lives encourages us. It is a special moment for our men to know how important and lasting their lives have been in serving others.
We will use your gift to bring needs, special events, and occasions to celebrate that wouldn’t happen without your generosity.
God bless you and know that you are in our prayers and hearts for the witness you give to us. May you have a Blessed New Year filled with peace and good health.
