This month, the Monarchs took their royal appetite to J.J. Kelleys in Lansing, Illinois, and let’s just say, it was an afternoon to remember. A huge shoutout and heartfelt thank you to Terry Lynch for hosting this wonderful rendezvous. With 32 Monarchs in attendance, there was no shortage of laughter, memories, and of course, delicious food.

But that’s not all! True to our Mendel spirit, our enthusiastic alumni belted out the iconic Mendel Fight Song. The energy, camaraderie, and sheer nostalgia were palpable. And in a sweet turn of events, the room echoed with a jovial “Happy Birthday” song for our fellow Monarch, Ron Gerber. Though Ron couldn’t make it to the event, in true Monarch fashion, we made sure he was there in spirit and song.

These gatherings serve as a testament to the enduring bonds formed during our time at Mendel High. We encourage all alumni to join in on future R.O.M.E.O. events. It’s a fantastic opportunity to relive the good old days and create new memories with old friends.
