Veterans & First Responders Memorial Sunday — Nov. 9, 2025

October 21, 2025
The Mendel Alumni Association Veterans & First Responders Committee invites all Monarchs, families, and friends to a special Memorial Sunday on November 9, 2025. Together we’ll honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans and first responders with Mass, wreath-layings at local graves, and fellowship afterward. All are welcome.
Schedule
10:00 AM – Memorial Mass
St. Barnabas Church — 10134 S. Longwood Dr., Chicago
After Mass, we’ll organize car groups at St. Barnabas to visit local cemeteries for wreath and flag placement.
Andy Youpel will have the Mendel grave flags and wreaths available at the Mass. Each group will receive the appropriate number of wreaths and flags before departing.
We anticipate the Mass will conclude around 11:00 AM, and the cemetery visits should take about an hour.
12:30 PM – R.O.M.E.O. Luncheon
Barraco’s Restaurant, Beverly — 2105 W. 95th St., Chicago
Join us afterward for food, fellowship, and stories as we honor our Monarchs who served.
