The Mendel Alumni Association continued a cherished Monarch tradition with the Christmas R.O.M.E.O. (Random Old Monarchs Eating Out) Luncheon, held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Lencioni’s Pub & Grill in Lynwood, Illinois.

From noon to mid-afternoon, Mendel alumni from across class years gathered to reconnect, share stories, and celebrate the season together. Hosted by Terry Jarosky ’64, the luncheon featured a festive Christmas buffet and the kind of easy conversation that only decades of shared Mendel history can produce.

The event also reflected the generosity that has long defined the Mendel community. Alumni donated hats and gloves to support those in need during the holiday season, continuing a tradition of giving back. Attendees were also invited to contribute unopened bottles of spirits, which will be used as prizes at upcoming Mendel Alumni Association events in 2026, including the All-Class Reunion and the annual Golf Outing.

Most importantly, the Christmas R.O.M.E.O. once again reinforced what makes Mendel special: lifelong friendships, strong bonds across generations, and a commitment to supporting one another well beyond graduation.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and helped keep this Monarch tradition alive. We look forward to seeing you at future Mendel Alumni Association events.
