This is your chance to be a R-O-M-E-O!  Sadly for you, this has nothing to do with Valentine’s Day. “R-O-M-E-O” stands for “Random Old Monarchs Eating Out.”

This is a new concept that the Mendel Alumni Association is initiating to encourage more camaraderie and socialization among Mendel Alumni. Three or four times a year, we will choose a restaurant to meet for breakfast and to catch up on Mendel Alumni News.

Our first R-O-M-E-O will be held Wednesday February 15 from 10AM to 1 PM at Lumes Pancake House 11601 South Western. Come out and catch up with your Fellow Monarchs. Everyone is invited to join us, even for just a cup of coffee. Plan to wear some of your Mendel clothing, or at the very least wear a blue shirt or jacket or sweater!

This R-O-M-E-O will be a special event because it will be an opportunity to meet the new Chairman of the Mendel Alumni Association, Bill Kushner (’71). Bill was named the Chairman at the Mendel Alumni Association Board of Directors’ Meeting on Tuesday February 7, 2023.

This also will be the first exposure to the Mendel Alumni Association Scholarship Program, which also was approved at the February 7, 2023 Mendel Alumni Association Board of Directors’ Meeting.
